Space to describe difficult experiences with care.
Sharing experiences connected to an asylum matter can feel overwhelming. A trauma-informed clinical interview offers a structured space to discuss relevant history and the effects those experiences may have on your wellbeing.
What the evaluation explores
The assessment focuses on mental health symptoms, functioning, coping, and relevant personal history. We consider how distressing experiences are described and how symptoms appear in the clinical picture. Assessment findings, limitations, and recommendations are documented without promising a particular diagnosis or legal result.
- Relevant experiences and their emotional impact
- Sleep, mood, concentration, fear, and trauma-related concerns
- Effects on relationships, routines, and daily functioning
- Prior care, current support, coping strategies, and treatment needs
Virtual evaluations in New York and New Jersey
Appointments are conducted virtually, so you can meet from a private location without traveling to an office. You must be physically in New York or New Jersey during your appointment. We confirm your location, language needs, privacy, and clinical fit before scheduling.
Preparing for your appointment
You do not need to prepare a perfect account or rehearse answers. Ask your attorney which records may be relevant. Tell us ahead of time about language needs, accessibility concerns, or anything that could make a virtual interview difficult. You may ask questions or request a break during the interview.
From interview to written report
Before we begin, we review the purpose of the assessment, informed consent, confidentiality limits, and fees. The evaluation may include a clinical interview, appropriate assessment measures, and review of relevant available records. A written report presents the clinical findings and relevant limitations. Report timing is agreed upon before booking.
Do I need to remember every detail?
Tell us what you remember in your own words and say when you are unsure. The evaluation should reflect your actual recollection and the clinical information available.
